A superbright
LED light is what it is. We use them on our production floor. These things are intense! Will melt right through the holster if you accidently leave it on.

- I think not. LEDs are all about light,
  not heat. This would have to be a halogen bulb, run at very high power, like 100 Watts or more. It's possible to do that, but the batteries would last about 5 minutes. Useless for anything but novelty videos like this one. You can scorch paper on top of the bulb in an incandescent table lamp. BFD.

  I have one of these flashlights. It has a Osram #64623 100 watt Halogen bulb, and a 14.4 Volt NiMh battery pack. Run time on a charge is 15 minutes max. At 4100 Lumens it is one of the brightest flashlights available, easily lighting up objects at well over 1/4 mile. Weight is only 24 ounces. They are available from Wicked Lasers for $300.

- Thanx for the info, I guessed about the
  details of the flashlight, but it looks like I was reasonably close. Interesting, but I think 15 minutes is a bit short for battery life. I'm imagining an LED flashlight with similar light output would last longer.

- The Torch
  15 minutes is a short run time. Plus the light gets so hot after about 5 minutes it's to hot to hold. It's more of a "show off" light than a practical light. I have a half dozen of the best hand held lights available and my favorite is the Microfire Warrior lll. It it a HID light rated at 3500 Lumens. It runs about 55 minutes on a charge. It has a Lithium Ion battery that holds a charge for many months. It doesn't get too hot after extended use either. One point to be made about both the Torch and the Warrior is that they don't just light up a house door or window at like 50 yards, they light up the whole house. The total amount of light they put out is incredible. If you are interested in the Warrior lll it is only available in the U.S. at the "Fenix" store. Price is currently $538.

  flashlight actually sounds pretty interesting. I imagine it emits a 'blue' light like my Infiniti's headlights. $538 for a flashlight is a fair hunk of dough, though, unless you REALLY need a killer flashlight!
